Hello everyone, I am Nicole Elliott Bays! I have been enjoying educating and supporting families through their birth and postpartum period for the past eight years. I certified through CAPPA as a childbirth educator, labor doula, postpartum doula and lactation educator.
My passion for this work starts with my love for educating new families. I am also a parent educator at Advent Health Shawnee Mission and I also teach custom private classes whether it is prepping for cesarean, postpartum, newborn care, and breastfeeding. I know how amazing, exciting, exhausting, and daunting a task that can be and I’m in love with the entire journey of childbirth. I feel so blessed to have found a way to share in that experience with others!
Everyone’s birth is so unique and I want the new family unit to come out of the experience of labor and birth feeling heard and supported emotionally and physically. I aim to provide informed and educated consent so that my clients can make the best decision for YOUR birth. I am in awe of the journey each woman takes through birth along with their partner. I want my clients to experience those WOW power moments and to feel that comfort, safety, and energy in the room so you can start your journey of parenting on a high note. I am also so excited to take the Spinning Babies training in November I am always looking for more ways to better support my clients.
I have been a postpartum doula for seven years. With my daytime support and overnight care I can help ease that transition with your baby by helping to nourish your body with food and rest, as well as providing newborn care guidance, feeding support via bottle or breast, and reassurance that you are doing the best for your baby. The majority of my postpartum doula experience is with multiples and I have extended postpartum multiples training through CAPPA. I love that I am a professional baby snuggler and family facilitator!
I have been married for the past fourteen years to my loving husband and we have two beautiful daughters; Elliott is eleven and Penelope is four. We cannot get enough of them! When Elliott was born, two fires lit inside of me the first to be the best mother I could and the second to serve others in their journey of motherhood. I was able to educate myself with tools such as childbirth educational classes, newborn classes, breastfeeding classes, and literature. It truly transformed me and I want everyone to have that “In control” feeling when going into labor. Penelope is a rainbow baby and I know that path to parenthood can be a bumpy and a heart wrenching journey. I want to be there for the families in those moments and when they get to hold their beautiful miracles.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in the Dramatic Arts from Emporia State University in 2001. I have worked in theatre in Kansas City as well as television and film in Los Angeles. When Elliott came along my priority changed and we moved back to Kansas to be closer to family and friends. I love how Kansas City is so family oriented and my daughters love being spoiled by their grandparents.
I have been with Welcome Baby KC for three years now and I’m thankful for the support I get from my fellow birth workers and the well-rounded support we give our clients. Our shared passion and utmost professional care is something I am very proud of. I would love to talk to you all about how I can support your family so you can reach me at
